Thabathe was one of six men accused of the brutal killing of 16-year-old Andile ‘Bobo’ Mbuthu last year in KZN. In a statement, Reaction Unit South Africa stated that Thabathe was travelling when occupants from another vehicle opened fire with high-calibre rifles. Thabathe was the owner of the venue which Mbuthu had allegedly stolen alcohol from. Thabathe was released on bail last year after approaching the Durban High Court.
